Harvey Al-Ramadhan is a PhD researcher in Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester, supervised by Dr Dongda Zhang. After graduating with an MEng in Chemical Engineering in 2026, they began doctoral research focused on using artificial intelligence and hybrid modelling to improve the efficiency and sustainability of formulation development.
Their research focuses on integrating AI foundation models with physical knowledge to predict key formulation properties and support the design of greener, high-performance products. Building on previous research in data-efficient bioprocess scale-up using hybrid modelling and transfer learning, their current work aims to reduce experimental requirements, improve formulation design and enable more sustainable product development.
